The Romanesco Squash : Early Variety. Long fruit cylindrical, bright green colour with lighter longitudinal markings, very productive. Squash is harvested according to their development and to your needs, they must be chosen firm and not too big. Squash is used a lot for cooking gratins, ratatouille and stuffed tomatoes.

Sowing instruction :
Seed sowing under chassis or in greenhouse starting February, place 2 to 3 seeds in pots and keep only the strongest one, transplant in open fields around the middle of june. Direct sowing by placing 3 seeds in a hole with compost when there is no more danger of frost, when the first true leaves have appeared keep only the strongest plant. Keep soil moist but do not water on the plant this will help avoid sickness. Squash are at their best if you harvest them when small, harvesting the fruits will encourage production of new female flowers, only female flower will give you fruits. Do not hesitate manual pollination.
Storage : Squash are suitable for freezing just cut them in 2 cm dices and blanch them for 2 minutes, they also keep 1 week in the refrigerator .
