Kohlrabi Purple of Vienna: Early variety very well known and appreciated by farmers. The swollen basal part of medium size, purple, with firm flesh and a very delicate flavor. During years its quality and its uniformity were a garantie of results. Cultivates itself in a fresh, well worked ground, but also appropriate to clay soils.

Sowing instructions: Sow seeds directly in place as soon as any danger of frost has drawn away, you also can sow them earlier under frame, chassis or in a tunnel.  Sow in depth of 2 to 3 cm, in a well worked soil and space the rows from 20 to 30 cm, thin out seedlings every 8 cm after lifting. If you wish to consume Kohlrabi all winter long, pull out the root end of October and store them covered with sand in your cellar like the carrots.
