Beet Root Detroit 2 : This is an early variety with little foliage, the plant produces a round globe shaped root with blackish-red flesh and excellent taste.The leaves are small, dark green with red veins and also of nutritional value containing beta-carotine. Absolutely perfect in salades, or for a deliciously refreshing beet soup. Beetroots are very low on calories, and a great source of fibre.
