Batavia Canasta: Very flexible variety in its cycle of cultivation, this variety can be cultivated practically all the year, either outside or under greenhouse. Ideal for the culture of autumn and beginning of spring. The salads are vigorous with large leaves bright green and the outside edges are red when it is ready to be harvested. The best period of sowing is as from August until March. The batavia is consumed raw or braised.
