Basil Italien Big Leaves : Also called Pestou in the south of France. The variety Italian Big Leaves is grown like an annual plant which reaches 30 to 40 cm in height. The silky leaves are green and shaped like a spoon, with a very strong smell and taste. Collect basil leaves all summer, once dried, leaves retain very flavourfull. Basil is one of the main ingredients of PESTO. Can be also grown in pots, balcony etc....

Sowing instructions: Seed sowing directly in place after all danger of frosts are passed in a light and well drained soil, prefers a sunny and wind-sheltered place, cover the seeds with a fine layer of potting soil, transplant as soon as the seedlings are sufficiently developed. For a better harvest you can sow out the seeds in a tray, fill with a good quality potting soil and cover these with soil or vermiculite (vermiculite let's pass light which helps the germination). Keep sowings at a temperature from 13°C to 20 °C and take care to maintain the soil wet. Transplant in 8cm pots or in place as soon as plant feels crowded. Excellent container plant.
